Greetings from Capps. It was a relatively uneventful week. The heat definitely came on and the storms seem to be missing us lately. Most folks looked like they were heading for their favorite river/lake for the weekend to beat the heat and relax (as evidenced by the number of canoes and kayaks on the move). Church attendance was definitely down. People took advantage of the warm, dry weather to get their hay cut and baled as well, I'm looking for someone to cut mine if anyone knows somebody with the time, talent and tractor. I bumped into my buddy Henry from church and his son Michael cutting and baling next to the horse farm but he's got his hands full.
ARDot has been cutting Highway 392 this week.
I'm looking forward to the Cone clan get-together on Saturday at Lead Hill, who knows, we might even be kin.
The Homesteaders Swap Meet will also be Saturday (today) from 8 a.m.-noon at the Capps Mini-Storage on Old Capps Road.
Blessings to you and yours this summer and safe travels.
