Bill Markle was presented with Teacher of the Year by John Hall. Bill has been the history teacher, baseball coach, softball coach, golf coach, and bus driver for 30 plus years. He enjoys farming, collecting sports cars and traveling across the country with the Corvette Club. When you see him make sure to tell him congratulations.

The Diamond City/Lead Hill Rescue Squad-Thrift Store received the Community Recognition Award presented by Sue Trimble.

James and Angie Sprinkle were awarded Volunteers of the Year award by Edna Gardner, president.

Dorothy Leelman presented Sue Trimble with the Spirit of Community award. Congrats Sue, well deserved.

Lead Hill School Library Summertime hours will be every Thursday June-July 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Saturday, June 15, HIM presents The Ultimate BBQ at the Lead Hill Park starting at 3 p.m. There is a $500 cash prize for the best barbecue. There will be free food, games, bouncy house, live music and more. Any questions, contact HIM at (870) 416-8932 or myhimlh@gmail.com.

VBS starts Monday, June 10, at the Lighthouse Church in Diamond City.

The monthly community prayer meeting meets at 7 p.m. at the Lord of the Lutheran Church Monday, June 10.

Celebrate Fathers Day at the Diamond City Lakeside Resort with the Nickel Opera Band. Meal at 6. Live music at 7.

Soon I will be dedicating a portion of my article to our local vets. So, if you have a short tidbit about a vet in our area please e-mail me at vlmcentire1967@gmail.com so I can put it with their information I have.

In closing I just want to say again be safe and also on the Lake. And pray for Arkansas, we have a lot of people that have had to deal with the flooding. Keep everyone in your prayers.
