1:33 a.m. — A woman called to report her daughter went to the caller’s residence and took her grandson without having custody. Officers didn’t locate the woman or child at the time, but officers were asked to keep an eye out for them. They were located about an hour later after a caller reported a group of people fighting outside Walmart. The subject relinquished the child to the original caller and the information was noted for future reference.

1:54 a.m. — A woman called to report a male subject assaulted her boyfriend at Casey’s on Highway 65 North, then tried to hit their vehicle with his when they left. An officer arrested the 29-year-old man on a Boone County and Vilonia Police warrants for failure to appear in court on speeding with total bond set at $913. He was later taken to the Boone County Jail for incarceration.

3:33 a.m. — A caller reported a possible domestic disturbance at an address on West Central. An officer said the disturbance had been verbal only and the parties agreed to separate.

4:11 a.m. — An officer on patrol advised he’d be checking an occupied vehicle parked outside Walmart. The officer later said the subject was sleeping in his car due to being homeless.

5:45 a.m. — A caller reported a male subject running around Kum & Go and flailing his arms. An officer said the 35-year-old man agreed to leave the business.

10:05 a.m. — An employee at Super 8 Motel reported a vehicle had been left running and unoccupied outside the business all night. An officer said the vehicle hadn’t been reported stolen, so the caller was advised of the proper steps to have it removed.

10:10 a.m. — A two-vehicle, non-injury wreck was reported on West Stephenson in front of the Boone County Library.

10:41 a.m. — A female subject went to the HPD to report a man stole her cell phone. An officer spoke to the man, who said he would try to locate the phone and return it to the complainant.

11:18 a.m. — A caller reported a male subject lying on the grass near Lake Shore Drive. An officer said the subject was OK.

12:05 p.m. — An employee at McDonald’s adjacent to Walmart reported receiving a counterfeit $50 bill. A formal fraud complaint was filed.

12:06 p.m. — An employee at the Flippin’ Hippie reported a break-in and theft overnight. A formal complaint was filed.

12:11 p.m. — An employee at Days Inn reported a female subject refusing to leave a room after check-out time. An officer said the 28-year-old woman did agree to move along.

1:19 p.m. — A reckless driver in a vehicle with two unrestrained juveniles was reported northbound on Highway 65 approaching the south city limits. Officers were notified.

1:23 p.m. — A woman called to report a vehicle sideswiped hers on Highway 65 in front of T-Mobile and continued northbound. An officer said the other driver returned and a formal wreck report was filed.

1:32 p.m. — A male subject called to report he had left his vehicle parked outside Hudson Tire and Battery overnight waiting for repairs and someone entered it, stealing the keys and some other items. He declined a formal complaint, but requested extra patrol.

2:15 p.m. — A reckless driver was reported pulling onto the parking lot at Casey’s on Highway 65 North. Officers were notified.

2:25 p.m. — A caller reported an unwanted male subject at an address on North 3rd Street. An officer spoke to all parties and advised the caller of the proper eviction process.

2:46 p.m. — An employee at T’s BBQ called to report a male subject tried to dispose of a used syringe in a toilet and was refusing to leave the business after it closed at 2. An officer properly disposed of the syringe and the 29-year-old man got a ride home.

3:37 p.m. — A caller reported a dog locked in a vehicle parked outside Walmart. An officer said the vehicle was gone when he arrived.

4:32 p.m. — A man called to talk to an officer about his mother being discharged from NARMC. He was referred to Adult Protective Services.

6:13 p.m. — A caller reported subjects riding a four-wheeler and a motorcycle at high rates of speed on McElroy Drive. An officer said the subjects had put the vehicles away when he arrived, but they were advised of the possible consequences of their actions.

9:08 p.m. — An officer on patrol advised he’d be checking an occupied vehicle parked outside Splash Car Wash on the Bypass. No arrests were made.

10:21 p.m. — A caller reported some subjects loading items from the NARMC Thrift Shop loading dock into a vehicle. An officer arrested a 38-year-old woman for two counts of possession of controlled substance with bond set at $5,000, but she was later released on a signature bond because Boone and Newton County jails refused to hold.
