SPRINGDALE — The Harrison Goblin golf team opened their season on Wednesday.
Playing in the Springdale Invitational at the Springdale Country Club, the team had three athletes play as individuals.
“We played with three players,” said Harrison coach Don Price. “The rest of our team is sophomores and freshmen and they don’t have a lot of experience yet. As the season progresses, we will find someone to fill that last spot.”
The winner of the match was Rogers High School. They shot a 286 as a team. Springdale Har-Ber was second with a 318. Bentonville finished with a 321 and Greenwood a 323.
There were nine teams in the tournament.
Harrison’s scores were clumped together with two strokes separating the three golfers.
Nick Schriner shot a 101 to top the Harrison scoring. Seth Sweatman had a 102 and Gavin Ray a 103.
Both Harrison teams will be in the Mountain Home Tournament on Monday. They will be playing on the Big Creek Country Club course.
