Bradford pear trees have exploded in a flurry of white flowers this week. The pretty (and notoriously foul smelling) trees can be seen blooming along the highways, outside of businesses and in yards throughout the area this time of year. The appearance of their blooms is a sure sign of early spring in Arkansas. While the plentiful flowers are visually stunning, the trees are unwelcome in many ways. more
Daniel Caudle, 36, and Misty Berdine, 33, both of Omaha, pleaded guilty to Medicaid Fraud this week. Medicaid Fraud is a Class A misdemeanor. The pair were discovered claiming Medicaid payments for providing care to their son when he was not in their custody.  more

MOUNTAIN HOME — After unanimous votes by both the Fulton County Quorum Court on Tuesday, Feb. 20, and the Baxter Health System Board of Directors on Wednesday, Feb. 28, Fulton County Hospital has reached a long-term agreement to become part of the Baxter Health System. Baxter Health will continue to manage Fulton County Hospital for the remainder of 2024 under the current management agreement and will execute the long-term lease by Jan. 1, 2025. more
