Hidden in the back of an antique table filled with photos of children and grandkids was a small picture of a young girl in a faded, silver frame. Dressed in a cheerleader uniform her beauty was obvious and her captivating smile warmed the heart. The picture looked like a Norman Rockwell painting reflecting the best of America. But nearly 90 years of life had taken its toll on her once athletic body. She sat hunched over in her chair, her every movement painful, yet the woman’s mind was sharp and her pale, blue eyes seemed alert and determined.
