150 years of service for UMC celebrated

Editorial Note: Pastor Susan Kramer was asked to share an update on the historical aspect of the celebration held last weekend at Bellefonte UMC.

This was truly a rewarding moment in time.
We had over 50 people come by within the 2-5 p.m. time slot we shared in our three-segment article. Many of the folks who came by grew up in the Bellefonte Methodist Church.
As the current Pastor, I enjoyed the many stories like where their Sunday school class was located within the church. How so many memories came back to them as they walked around. Enjoyed the many photo albums they could look through and our two big membership log books that are all handwritten going back to 1927.
Many enjoyed a cup of ice cream in our Fellowship Hall. We had a descendant of Dr. Robinson come by to visit and it was wonderful visiting with the current Mr. Robinson. Dr. Robinson was the man who donated the plot of land that Bellefonte Methodist church was built on and is located today.
Even a descendant of Cam Ragland came by with his granddaughters to see the church and look around. Cam Ragland and his father transported materials for the church from Oklahoma to Bellefonte.
So much history, so many smiles, so many memories. We even had some very kind folks who wanted to donate funds to Bellefonte Church to keep it going. Bless each person who did donate. Some in memory of Brice and Eula Martin and Tom Norman. What a special privilege to have met and visited with everyone who came by. Many Thanks for coming out and visiting with us. God Bless you all.
