Blessing of the Animals

“All are welcome to join us for the blessing of the animals at St John’s - individuals, families and their companions,” said Father Greg Hoover, priest at St. John’s. “Our pets gift us with a sense of joy and calm, so it feels good to honor them in the spirit of St. Francis, who is the patron saint of animals because he loved all creatures."

The Blessing of the Animals is a religious event customarily held on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and is performed by faith communities across the country every year.

St. John’s Episcopal Church is at 707 West Central Avenue in Harrison.
