Aglow International to host Harrison meeting
Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. until noon in the Ballroom of the 1929 Hotel Seville the Aglow International will host a free, nondenominational ladies event. The speaker is Shelia Hart Artt. Doors open at 9:30. Refreshments and door prizes will be offered.
St. John's Episcopal Church will celebrate The Feast of St. Francis with its annual Blessing of the Animals during its service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.
“All are welcome to join us for the blessing of the animals at St John’s - individuals, families and their companions,” said Father Greg Hoover, priest at St. John’s. “Our pets gift us with a sense of joy and calm, so it feels good to honor them in the spirit of St. Francis, who is the patron saint of animals because he loved all creatures."
The Blessing of the Animals is a religious event customarily held on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and is performed by faith communities across the country every year.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is at 707 West Central Avenue in Harrison.
Mark your calendars for a dessert and pie auction and the gospel singing group “Ransomed” at the Bellefonte Methodist Church at 7022 Norvell Street. (New address but the same location, across from the Bellefonte City Hall and Water Department.) The event is Saturday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. Bring a pie or dessert to be auctioned off. All proceeds go to help the church’s local food ministry.
