Berryvillle Library raises over $21,000

Posted

April 7 was designated as Library Giving Day, which is a day set aside to recognize the contribution a library makes to its community. Over $21,000 was raised. The Craig and Michele Froman family of Berryville issued a challenge to match the first $5,000 donated to the library in recognition of Library Giving Day 2021. Their challenge was announced at the Library's recent press conference where the plans to raise needed funds to construct a new library by 2025 or earlier was announced along with a half million dollar gift from the estate of a prominent local family, who were lifelong supporters of the Library.

According to Mary Knight, Friends of the Library President, "We are so grateful to our community for helping raise these funds which puts us closer to meeting our fundraising goal! "

Even though April 7 is set aside to remember the library, donations are welcomed at anytime as the library moves toward raising the needed 2.5Million dollars needed to construct a new library across from the Berryville City Pool. All donations are tax deductible and go toward the building fund.

Donations made payable to the Berryville Library Building Fund can be dropped off at the library, 104 Spring Street in Berryville, or online donations can be made securely at berryvillelibrary.org/Building. To join the Friends of the library, visit berryvillelibrary.org/Friends.

If you are an individual, business or family who would like to issue the next challenge or if you just have questions about giving or naming opportunities, email donate@berryvillelibrary.org or call (870) 423-2323.
