Better Buys offers quality discounted items

James McGarrah has opened his second Better Buys location. The first store is still operating close to the intersection of Highways 43 and 7 and the second store is across from Pace Industries on Spring Street.

“We just recently closed for a couple of weeks to add sheetrock to the metal walls of the building and update it a little. During that time, we’ve also tried to reorganize the merchandise and spread it out so customers can see it well enough to enjoy browsing,” he said.

If you like good quality products at a discount price, Better Buys is a place you must check out. From weighted blankets, to name brand boots, to baby items to Instant Pots — they have just about everything.

McGarrah was able to purchase the remaining items from JCPenney and his other sources allow him to have name brand, new clothing of all kinds and sizes.

“When you're shopping and you like that piece of furniture, but wonder if we have it in another color — just ask. We have a lot of merchandise in our warehouse and maybe just haven’t had time to set it out yet,” he said

One of the most unique items might be inflatable hot tubs. “I wasn’t too sure about them myself when I first heard that it was available, but they are very nice and I’m planning to get one.”

McGarrah is trying to divide the merchandise for the two locations into “he” and “she” articles. But there are plenty of great items that could go in either location that both would want. Name brand knives are at the location by Pace. Guns and ammo are at the Bergman location. Large home appliances are at the Hwy. 7 location, with insta pots, and toys and furniture at the Spring Street location.

Originally very expensive bedding with matching sheets are also available. There is also a wide variety of toys and games for children. Electronics are a big deal too. Brand new Iphones, laptops, and other brands of computers and phones are part of the inventory, too.

“People just need to come and look at all we’ve got in here. It’s unbelievable,” he said.
