The March meeting of the Boone County Master Gardeners was held in the Fellowship Hall of St. John’s Episcopal Church, with 24 members and 2 visitors attending Thursday, March 9. The meeting began with a presentation from Darlene Cullen of Wildwind Bluff Farm on soil blocking. President Olena Cooper then introduced two ladies who have recently moved from California that may be interested in joining the Boone County Master Gardeners. A warm welcome was extended to both visitors. Olena then gave a report on the hanging baskets project and introduced Roxana Creamer as head chair and herself as co-chair. Roxana reported 48 hanging baskets will be assembled at a future date. President went on to cover several topics some of which included, chairperson details for each garden bed, work days for the year and local seminars. Vice President Cori Hopingardner reported on the workshops held each month at the Boone County Regional Library. The meeting was adjourned at 7 p.m.
