Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Jason Patience formally announced today that Jeffrey “Jeff” Nielsen has been named President and CEO of the Chamber. Nielsen, who moved here earlier this year from the Houston area, will lead the Chamber in its economic development mission through leadership, education, and investor relations.

In announcing the selection, Patience stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Nielsen as the new President and CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce. Jeff’s extensive experience in executive leadership roles, and his dedication to community involvement, uniquely position him to drive our mission of progress and development forward. His vision and commitment to fostering economic growth and collaboration will be invaluable as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Nielsen is no stranger to Harrison and Boone County. His wife Lisa Woodworth Nielsen is a native of Boone County and a 1985 graduate of Harrison High School. Her father Devoe served as Road Foreman in both Boone and Carroll Counties and her mother Judy owned and operated the Country Palace retail store in the former Ozark Mall in Harrison.

Since April, Nielsen has been working as Assistant to the Judge - Special Projects for Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway.

A native of Houston and a 1990 graduate of the University of Houston, Nielsen has spent much of his career in local government and the construction industry. He first served as the chief of staff for two different Houston City Council Members. Then, from 2002 until 2021, he served as the Executive Vice President for the Houston Contractors Association. From 2021 to April of this year, Nielsen served as President of the Houston Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.

In accepting the job Nielsen said, “I am truly honored to have been selected to serve as your new President/CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce. This position represents a wonderful opportunity to serve my wife’s hometown, the business community and residents of Harrison and Boone County. I want to thank the Chamber Board, the selection committee and Board Chair Jason Patience for all of their hard work during this process."

"I look forward to this challenge and know that I will make the board proud of their selection," continued Nielsen. "My goal as President is to partner with area leaders to grow the regional economy through the promotion of Harrison as a great place to live, work and raise a family, while maintaining the small town values and natural beauty that makes this part of the Ozarks so great.”

The Nielsens have two grown daughters, Avery Collins of Castle Rock, Colorado and Brogan Cassidy of Houston.
