The Arkansas Legislature passed a bill restricting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), receiving its final vote in the house chambers on Thursday, Sept. 14. The bill was signed into law by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders the same day. The two identical bills (HB1012 in the house, SB10 in the senate) removed the public’s access to documents on security services provided by the Arkansas State Police to many state-level elected officials.
