The Harrison Colony Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, met Tuesday, April 20, to induct new members and conduct regular business. Lisa Merrill, Susan Sangren, and Wanda Davenport

were welcomed into the chapter and presented their new-member packets. Regent Sandra Hillier led the Opening Ritual, and officer reports were given. Registrar Janice Duffy stated no applications are pending at National; however, she is helping several prospective members research and complete applications.

The Agenda included the following:

—Reading the awards given to the chapter at the virtual State Conference.

—Signing a Patriotic Thank You Card to be mailed to a deployed soldier.

—The chapter will participate in an Osage District, Arkansas State DAR, donation drive to benefit Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. NSDAR has had a long-standing relationship with Bacone College since the

1930’s.

—The Wreaths Across America Mobil Education Van will be in Arkansas in April, 2022. Cities visited are yet to be decided. This will be an educational event for each community visited.

—The chapter is still seeking monetary assistance to provide a pocket booklet of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence to area high schools.

—A NSDAR Day of Service and Memorial Marker to rededicate the grave of Jordan Milam will be held in October. NSDAR Day of Prayer is also the same weekend.

—An example of chapter banners was passed around, and the members voted for the one they wanted to order.

—The members are also ordering t-shirts to wear when participating in community events and chapter projects. A couple of examples will be drawn from which to decide.

—The chapter was invited by Abendschone Chapter, NSDAR, in Eureka Springs to collaborate in historic preservation of the abandoned Kenner Cemetery in Osage. A grant will be submitted for the renovation, cleaning, and leveling of the headstones and repair of other property on site. The earliest burial indicates 1858.

—A committee was appointed of Frances Ogle, Tonya Bardin-Sherburne, Hillier and Duffy to assist in prepping the 2021-2022 Chapter Yearbook for printing.

—DAR Good Citizens Chairman, Ana Darnell, has asked for photos of the Good Citizens from participating schools.

The meeting was adjourned with the Benediction.
