Features Added To Monument

Posted
Steve Richardson stands near the Mountain Meadows Monument located on the Northeast corner of the Boone County Courtpark. He and his crew from Richardson Construction Co. added features to the monument that were paid for by private donors. In September 1857, more than 120 emigrants, mostly from northwest Arkansas, were headed for California with the Baker-Fancher wagon train. They were attacked by Mormon militia at the Mountain Meadows in Utah. Only 17 very young children were spared, and they were eventually reunited with their families back in Arkansas.
