First Monday in September: A history of Labor Day

This Monday, many Americans will celebrate Labor Day. The annual holiday is held on the first Monday of September every year. Getting to that celebration, which marks the unofficial end of summer, goes back 143 years and involves factory workers, a parade, and two men with awfully similar sounding names.
