Harrison Goblin Trap-shooters help deputies, aim for state championship

The Harrison Goblin Leadslingers participated in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program regional tournament held on May 7. Harrison’s Orange Crush squad finished in a tie for second place with a score of 104 out of 125 clays hit, and advanced to the state tournament which will be held in Jacksonville on June 4. Trap shooting is the sanctioned sport of the AYSSP. The Leadslingers will be using their skills to help raise money for the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputies Association at the Skeet and Eat Fundraiser held Saturday, May 22 at 3696 Buttercup Lane. The Reserve Deputies Association is a non-profit organization that helps buy necessary equipment for local deputies as well as supporting local charities and schools. Admission to the fundraiser is free and the public is invited to come and enjoy food, door prizes and raffles. Anyone interested in joining the competition can register by contacting the Boone County Sheriff at 870-741-8404. A five-man team can compete for $100 and individuals can compete for $25, payable on the day of the event. Those under 16 who are on a school skeet team may be registered by their coach.
