The Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership has announced Newton County Hometown Health Coalition (HHI) had been approved for a $25,000 grant. The money will be used by the HHI to take the steps necessary through training and leadership building to apply for future Drug-Free Communities (DFC) funding for sustainability; encourage and support coalition partnerships with city and county leaders of the jurisdiction(s) covered and provide for mentoring by selected applicants of other coalitions to help them grow. This funding will also be used to attend the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) training events and to provide substance use and misuse education with an opioid nexus for its jurisdictional areas.
