The guest speaker was Kailee Perrin from upstate New York. “I am so thankful for this ministry. My own life was saved because of a ministry like this.”
The Perrins have been married for 13 years “miraculous” years. ‘Marriage is the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” she said.
They have five children from the ages of 15 years to 2 years old. “We are in every stage and season of life at once.”
She started using drugs and alcohol at the age of 14 years-old and at 18, moved in with a man who could supply cocaine. Two months later she discovered she was pregnant and had a fear of raising a child by herself, as her mother had done.
“There was a war raging over that unborn baby. The womb should be the safest place on earth, but it’s the most dangerous,” she said. In her mind, she couldn’t see any other way out than abortion. In some miraculous ways, God placed a man involved with a crisis pregnancy center in an AA class with her mom. When her mom shared the burden she was carrying for her daughter and the unborn baby, the gentlemen shared a card with a phone number. Kailee ended up meeting with the center and learning she did have other options.
“God met me in that place and I felt the presence of peace there. I was so filled with hope and hope changed everything.” She had an ultrasound before leaving the clinic and could see the baby doing flip flops in the womb. “She is still doing back flips and very involved in tumbling,” Kailee laughed.
The baby’s daddy and Kailee ended up giving their hearts to the Lord and getting married in 2010. She proudly stated she has been sober for 12 years. “That is a miracle only God can do. It wasn’t easy — but we are blessed,” she said.
Because the evening was a fundraising event for the Center, Kailee shared the cost of abortions with the crowd. “The national average for the abortion pill is between $580 and $800. An abortion in the first trimester is between $600 and $800 and during the second trimester is thousands of dollars. This is the cost of death.”
The goal for the event was to raise monthly support and a total of $7,000. Rhonda said later, “God is so good! It was an amazing night with a tremendous outpouring of sacrificial giving for Informed Choices. This community truly loves caring for our mother's and father's experiencing a crisis pregnancy.”
Informed Choices Women’s Center is at 715 W. Sherman. The phone number is 870-280-3169. The donation address is P.O. Box 545, Harrison, AR 72602. Donations are tax deductible.
