Jane Bueg- A Legacy of Care

After 42 years Jane Bueg, PHR, SHRM-CP, BSN has retired from her career with Ozark Opportunities, Inc. Jane began her career with OOI as the Family Planning Director in 1979, caring and serving local families. When funding priorities shifted in 1994, Jane became a leader within the agency and took on a new position as Program Coordinator and Health and Safety Officer. As Community Action expanded through the years Jane rose to the challenge serving as a Component Assistant, Head Start Disabilities, and CSBG Coordinator. In May of 2000 the need for a Human Resources Department became evident; and Jane created and led the department for over 21 years! During that time she also became the Property Officer, Information Technology Director, and gained the title of Corporate Services Director. Due to her diverse skill sets and ability to rise to new challenges, experiences, and provide expert counsel Jane was named Chief Operating Officer in 2017 under the current CEO, Richard “Toby” Atkinson. Jane’s departure will certainly leave an enormous impact, as she is known for her guidance and genuine care for her staff and the agency. Ms. Bueg’s legacy challenges us all to rise to the ever-challenging needs of our communities by working toward our highest level of leadership while always striving to find the truth and the good in every situation. Her story of perseverance through change will continue to inspire us all.
