Three Arkansas state legislators including representative Ron McNair (District 5) met with the public at a legislative forum on Tuesday morning, March 21. Diamond City Mayor Jaime Nuessner attended the forum and asked the lawmakers what they planned to do about Act 218 (House Bill 1197). Act 218, an amendment to Arkansas Code § 12-9-118 passed in 2021, restricted law enforcement agencies from having any less than one full-time chief who reports to the administrative head of the city.
