Logan Slaughter Honored-
Logan Slaughter was presented a Proclamation from Harrison Mayor Jerry Jackson proclaiming April 2nd as “Wear Blue for Logan” Day". The proclamation was read at the band stand Friday morning on the northwest corner of the Boone County Courtpark in front of many of Logan’s friends and family members. The proclamation read: “Whereas, diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (a form of Autism) at the age of 10, Logan Slaughter wishes to raise awareness in his hometown of Harrison about this disease; and Whereas, Logan knows firsthand the struggles of living a normal life with Autism, as he has lived and dealt with obstacles most take for granted, but that people with disabilities may be different, but being different is OK; and Whereas, Logan guided by his mother’s love and his faith in God, wants everyone to know that he has a positive attitude, is stronger than ever, full of love and grateful to be an inspiration to others by sharing his experiences; and Whereas, his dreams of entertainment possibilities to provide funds for charities in Autism awareness are in Logan’s future, which gives him hope to get through each day; and Now, Therefore, I, Jerry Jackson, Mayor of the City of Harrison, Arkansas do hereby proclaim the 2nd day of April, 2021 as “Wear Blue for Logan” Day. As blue symbolizes a feeling of calmness and acceptance in a world that can be very loud and challenging. We commend Logan for being a spokesman for bringing awareness to Autism, and support his efforts in this cause."
