Mad Max Welding continues to expand

Posted

Mad Max Welding & Fabrication hosted a ribbon cutting with the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce at the new location at 1609 N. Spring Road between Pace Industries and Winkler Logistics on Hwy. 43.

Chamber Co-Chair, Melissa Collins said, “We want to welcome you. Thanks for such a catchy name to remember —  Mad Max Welding.”

Harrison Mayor Jerry Jackson added, “Welcome. I think the key to this is not only adding several jobs, but the type of jobs and the skills that Harrison needs. There’s not a lot of these skills in the area. We need more of your trade and skills. Thank you.”

Max Scarborough started his business in 2012 and the need to expand his workshop has constantly been a challenge. Last spring he purchased almost 10 acres off of Spring Road and already needs to expand the 30x80 structure that was on the property to 80x80.

Scarborough said, “The welding shop has grown from where I started with heavy equipment repair and onsite service.”

Mad Max Welding & Fabrication is the umbrella company for his services as a contractor, custom CNC, plasma cut signs, custom structural steel, handrails and wrought iron, on site welding services, equipment repair and red iron buildings/concrete.

“If it’s made out of metal we can build it or fix it,” Scarborough said.

Collins, pointed out that in this trade, there is also the need for technology with the CNC plasma cutter and other design features.

Scarborough credits his instructors at North Arkansas College, Ronnie Carpenter and James Knight, for teaching him and his crew the skills they use now every day. He introduced his team, Chris Daniels, Garby Hustead, Daniel Miles, Donald Rice, Corry Stuart and his brothers Caleb and Jordan Scarborough.

“Max, we are excited to have you and your team as a part of the Chamber. Today we are going to cut a metal ribbon, with a torch,” Bob Largent, Chamber CEO, president said.
