The Marion County Sheriff’s Office sponsored two Level 1 Active Shooter training courses July 22-25. The training consisted of two 16 hour training courses and was taught by instructors from Arkansas, Iowa, and the FBI. The course is based on the curriculum from the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center from Texas State University, and trains police officers how to respond to an active shooter incident.
