The Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomes the Harrison Operations Manager for Black Hills Energy and the North Arkansas College Interim President as new Directors on its Board.

Melissa Collins, chair of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, announced that Mike Kite and Don Sugg have been elected to the Chamber’s Board. Collins said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Mike and Don to the Board, filling the unexpired three-year terms of Dr. Randy Esters and Jim Blackwell. Randy is moving to Louisiana to assume a new college leadership role there and Jim has retired and intends to spend most days fishing. Both Mike and Don bring new insight to the Chamber’s important mission of economic and business development through leadership, education and investor partnerships.”

“I appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chamber board. For the past several years, I have seen firsthand the Chamber refocus toward economic, business and community development and I look forward to continuing their pursuit of new business and more jobs for the community,” said Kite.

Returning as a director, having served a full three-year term from 2008 to 2010, Sugg said, “I am pleased to rejoin the Board and lend service to continue the Chamber’s revitalization efforts in economic and business development.”

Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Bob Largent said, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with both Mike and Don the past several years and they’ve consistently delivered with on-point insight and counsel. Both will be great assets to the Chamber Board and we’re so fortunate to have them join the team.”

Kite has been with Black Hills Energy and its predecessor organizations for over 19 years, spending the majority of time at various locations in North Central and Northwest Arkansas. He moved to Harrison in 2018. He and his wife, Angela, have 3 teenage sons and in his spare time, enjoys remodeling homes with his wife and anything with his family.

Sugg retired from North Arkansas College as the chief financial officer in June 2020, having served over 36 years in various administration and leadership roles there. He and his wife, Cindy, an informational technology manager retired from UNFI, reside in Harrison. He accepted the interim president’s position this month and will serve through mid-August, helping transition the new president to the College. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, sports and holding his one-month-old grandson.
