Greetings from Capps. This too shall pass never sounded so good as last weekend when we finally emerged from the two week cold spell. Our drain line froze up for three days, that was the worst of it for us but we still had water and heat. As of this writing, Monday, almost all the snow and ice is melted. In years past, Pastors Eddie and Teresa Reed of Capps Full Gospel hosted an annual sweetheart event for couples at the church. With her passing last spring, it left a big space to fill, especially in our hearts. Bobby and Sonja Huskey and the youth stepped up large and put on an over-the-top event last Saturday night at the church. Everyone was blessed and made to feel so special. Sunday night, Billy Huskey, who has just recently gotten the call to preach, delivered a powerful message as well. It was good to see Paul and Verna Jean Milam back in church after they both battled through the virus, thank God for His healing touch. Capps Batavia Fire hosted a training session for the Omaha Firefighters over the weekend. We had our monthly training meeting and annual gear inventory on Monday night, which was very well attended. We're always looking for committed volunteers if you feel the call. It's not easy, but serving the community is very rewarding. We're hoping to make it up to Springfield this weekend for the Spring Lawn and Garden show, which wouldn't be complete without stopping at Braums for a burger and shake. Blessings, Doug
