Greetings from Capps. It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, the song says, but our weather is making it a reality. Cold, wet and windy conditions have most of us wishing for warmer days. We had about an inch of snow last Friday and another inch or two on Monday night. On the bright side, it does make it easier to track deer, although I'm not hunting this season. It looks like the Homesteaders Swap Meets will be winding down for the season, check the Facebook page for updates. I'll soon be sharing an event that took place almost 100 years ago in Capps at the stone church that was related to me by our good friend, Sally Wakefield (Sanders). I'm thankful for the many blessings in my life and for all my faithful column readers. As the holidays approach, I realize more and more that I'm happier when I don't have too much on my plate, while there are lots of great opportunities out there, I can pick and choose which ones I want to be a part of. Happy Thanksgiving, Doug
