Shiloh Museum presents Native American Days School Program

The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History's award-winning Native American Days school program will return virtually Nov. 17-18 with presentations by archeologists and members of Native American tribal nations.

The program is in partnership with the Arkansas Archeological Survey and members of tribal nations, including Cherokee, Caddo and Osage.

Archeologists and historians will share their research findings to give students an immersive experience in the science and culture of Native Americans. Members of several Native American nations will also share their inspirations and artistic creations as well as viewpoints on difficult subjects, such as treaties and artifact displays and collections. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of subjects, including the Cherokee language, Quapaw pottery, Native American plants, music and much more.


Past Native American Days programs have reached thousands of students both in Arkansas and out of state. It received the 2021 Digital Education Silver Award by the Southeastern Museums Conference Technology Competition as well as the Leadership Award of Excellence from the American Association of State and Local History.
