Sixth annual Harrison HowToLife

Editor’s note: This is the first of a two-part series about HowToLife Harrison.

HowToLife Harrison took place Wednesday night, May 10, at the North Arkansas College Pioneer Pavilion. More than 225 young people attended for a powerful night of music and testimonies.

Chloe Hubbard, a junior at Harrison High School, served as the Event Director. Hubbard and her student team prepared diligently throughout the last few months, preparing for this powerful night. The goal was to share the hope of Jesus with their friends and community.

This completely student-led outreach event was organized and planned by high school students from all over Boone County, representing multiple churches and multiple schools. Multiple churches from many different denominations brought students to this event.

The worship was powerful, featuring an all-student worship band, including a violin. The audience was completely attentive as student after student came up to share about the difference Jesus Christ has made in their lives.

One young person honestly shared about a broken relationship with their father: “I had a lot of bitterness towards my dad. I didn’t learn what true forgiveness was until I was 15. Then I learned it is better to forgive.”

Another student shared, “I remember I would show up to church on Sunday and Wednesday, saying, ‘God you can have me on those days. But the rest of the week is for me!’”

The testimonies all pointed towards the difference Jesus has made in their lives. One student challenged the audience: “You cannot live for God and live for the world at the same time. You can’t ride the fence and think you’re going to get into Heaven. It’s either all God, or all the world. You get to choose.”
