The Boone County and Newton County Spelling Bees scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 26, have been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2, due to the snow and cancellation of schools.
First Baptist Church of Harrison located at 1400 S. Pine has agreed to host the rescheduled event in the Sanctuary.
The Boone County Bee will begin at 9 a.m. and the Newton County Bee at 1 p.m.
A winner from each county will be chosen to represent the two counties in the Arkansas State Bee scheduled for March 11, at The Vines Center located at 1 Four-H Way in Little Rock.
The Harrison Daily Times has partnered with Kevin and Lisa Merrill of Main Street Service Center to host the two County Bees. MSSC has provided this year's winning trophies and dictionaries. MSSC is located at 620 Goblin Drive.
