Verbie Lemon, 85, Green Forest

Verbie Lemon, age 85, of Green Forest, went to her heavenly home Friday, Sept. 10 (2021. She was born June 22, 1936, to Nola Virginia and Raymond Russell Hutchins. She had four daughters.

Verbie was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Lemon of Harrison; two sisters, Yvonne Sisco of Green Forest and Verla Hammons of Alpena; one daughter, Brenda Brown of Denver; two grandsons, Justin “Jugg” Maybee of Alpena and Aaron Romero of Springdale.

Verbie is survived three daughters, Judy Jefferys of Harrison; Candy (Donnie) Cone of Hasty; and Mary (Mike) Smith of Alpena; grandchildren Mikel (Robin) Brown of Springfield, Missouri; David (Savanna) Brown of Springdale; Lynda Tucker of Harrison; Charlie Wheaton of Springfield, Missouri; Tom (Megan) Alford of Warner Robins, Georgia; James (Pam) Maybee of Valley Springs; Amanda (Joe) Doyer of Harrison and Daniel Hauge of Harrison. She also had lots of great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many bonus grandchildren.

Verbie was an avid gardener, she always had something growing in the garden for canning. She raised baby calves, rabbits, goats, chickens, and dachshund dogs. Verbie sewed the most beautiful quilts, and she crocheted many blankets. Through the years she worked for Tyson Foods, Ozark Cafe, and at other area factories. She was an outdoors person with something to always do. She was a member of Alpena Church of Christ. She will be missed by all.

Celebration of Life services for Verbie will be Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Carrollton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Green Forest. Justin Curry will be officiating.
