This year 15 High School Juniors graduated from the XXIII Youth Leadership Academy from area schools.

“Our mission is to promote and support business and economic development in Boone County. We do that through leadership, education and investor partnerships. It’s the leadership aspect we are celebrating now,” Bob Largent, president/CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce said during the online graduation presentation.

From Harrison High School were Madison Bell, Brooke Boyd, Colette Campbell, Victoria Hudson, Addie Jones, Hallie Marseilles, Riley Richardson, Katey Sims and Jenna Whitmer.

Marie Kershaw represented the Sacred Heart Home School and Cody Paul from Lead Hill High School.

From Valley Springs High School were Claire Deaton, Shelby Deaton, McKenzie Garrison and Kyle McDermott.

Kellie Shanks, Valley Springs High School Counselor said, “We are so proud of you for completing the Youth Leadership Academy. Angie Bogle, Valley Springs High School principal said, “The skills you have gained will help you, not only in high school, but in every organization you participate in for the rest of your life.”

Harrison High School principal Jay Parker said, “I want to congratulate each of you who graduated. You grow from leadership daily, not just ‘in a day.’ I want to challenge you to continue to grow in your leadership skills throughout your life.”

Lead Hill school counselor, Madison Ruley said, “I want to acknowledge how the Youth Leadership Academy has been such a great asset for our community. It has equipped our student with the leadership quality, skills and knowledge that I know he can use to advance in academics, and college and career goals.”

The class had BCLI alumni Ti Freeman, Bank OZK, and Dan Dillard, NAPHE Coordinator, as their co-facilitators this year.
