The statewide gas price average in Arkansas was $3.19 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel on Thursday, according to the AAA Arkansas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is two cents less compared to that day last week and is one cent more compared to that day last year.

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, in conjunction with the NARMC Community Relations Department, recently hosted a significant gathering — the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association Northwest District Meeting, at Signature Bank Community Room in Harrison. The event served as a gathering of seven hospitals' auxiliaries from Northwest Arkansas.

The Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division announced this week that it had revoked the license of medical marijuana dispensary Green Springs Medical Dispensary in Hot Springs. This is the first time a dispensary license has been revoked since the medical cannabis industry launched in Arkansas in 2019.

The first American Labor Day was celebrated on Sept. 5, 1882, in New York City. Less than seven years later, Labor Day went global. In 1889, an international federation of socialists and trade unions in Europe decided to create a similar holiday: International Workers’ Day (or Labour Day) to be celebrated on May 1 of each year, a tradition that continues to this day in more than 60 countries.

She has been working at the Daily Times since 2008 — currently she juggles many responsibilities in the front office, including accounts payable. Ross, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, announced today that a former employee of a mortuary services provider has pleaded guilty to transporting stolen body parts across state lines and conspiracy to commit mail fraud. Candace Chapman Scott, 37, of Little Rock, entered this guilty plea today before United States District Judge Brian S. Miller.

Evan Pyshny a 3rd grader at Omaha Elementary School is diagnosed with XLP and HLH. He is currently at St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis needing a bone marrow transplant. Family members are being tested for a potential match. To help give some relief to the cost of their long medical journey, today, Saturday, Omaha is hosting a silent auction during the Peewee Jamboree in the School Gymnasium starting at 8 a.m. Check out Omaha School’s Facebook page for details. Bidding will end at 4 p.m. today.
