This game is important

When Becky and I went to the Wisconsin football games a couple weeks back, I repped my team.
Even though I had a lot of Wisconsin gear in the closet, I wore my Arkansas Razorback things. Even though we continue to drive along the lowest valley in our football history, I am still an Arkansas Razorback fan.
I know some fans that gave up their tickets and I don’t blame them for doing that.
The university is bleeding the fans to the point that maybe the financial well-being of the family is more important than keeping tickets.
My wife and I gave up our season tickets nearly 30 years ago. We had been in the system long enough that we had moved to the 35 yard line about 40 rows up.
We gave up our tickets because our daughters were getting old enough that their activities were consuming our weekends and those activities didn’t consult the Razorback football schedule.
Back then, it was hard to sell Razorback tickets because everyone didn’t announce their every move to be seen on social media. The cost accountant in me came out and I found it hard to justify my tickets over spending quality time with my children.
It was a relief once we let go of the tickets.
In our time of football drought, it is time to be supportive of the team. Fan’s actions are noticed by parents of recruits.
Would you want your child to play for a team that had fans with bags on their heads?
Of course coaches can spin that to say that the fan base is so passionate and wants to win now and your son will be the one to remove those bags.
The Razorbacks play a very important game against Tulsa. Tulsa is having their best season in two decades and the Razorbacks may be having another Chad Morris year.
Winning Saturday is important. It is not the end of the world if we don’t win. But we may be able to see the Zoombies ready to spread over the Natural State.
