As the 5A-West race is just past the midway point, there is still a world of possibilities for those looking to make the playoffs.

After Friday night action, Greenwood set themselves apart in the conference race. The Bulldogs dismantled Farmington, 42-14, in a battle of the top two teams in the league.
Greenwood came into the game as the No. 2 in Class 5A and Farmington was No. 3.
After the game was concluded, the Bulldogs were 4-0 in the 5A-West and Farmington fell to 3-1. There are three games remaining in league play.
After the top two teams, it is a five-team cluster with four teams being 2-2 in league play and one team sitting behind at 1-3.
The Harrison Goblins took down Pea Ridge, 52-21 to give the Blackhawks their second conference loss of the season while the Goblins moved to 2-2 in league play.
Harrison has already played Greenwood and Farmington. Their remaining games are against those in the pack with them.
On Friday night, Harrison entertains Dardanelle. The Sand Lizards are 1-3 in league play and are 2-5 overall.
Dardanelle is making the move to Class 5A this season after being Class 4A state runner-up last year.
On Friday night, the Sand Lizards fell to Alma, 17-3.
Harrison travels to Alma on Oct. 30 and then closes out the season on Nov. 6 as they host Morrilton.
Alma is also tied for third place with a 2-2 mark. The Airedales travel to Morrilton on Friday night, and after playing Harrison will close the season with a trip to Alma.
Morrilton is also 2-2 in league play. The Devil Dogs have an important game with Alma on Friday night before closing the season with Pea Ridge and Clarksville.
Clarksville is sitting at 0-4 in league play.
The top four teams from the conference will represent the 5A-West in the playoffs. The first and second place teams will have home games in the first round while the third and fourth place teams will hit the road for action.
