It goes by so fast

There are so many days where it seems like the days drag on. I have always found that those months seem to be January and August.
This August felt like it took forever to pass. Maybe it was because school felt like it started so much earlier or just because of life circumstances.
Now that it is September, it feels like the month has slipped by without warning. I can’t believe that in less than a month, my family will be a family of five. I have always heard the days are long, but the years are short. I would agree with that statement.
Next year will be the fifteenth high school reunion for my class. It only feels like I just graduated college even though that will be ten years this coming May.
Mark and I will celebrate our tenth anniversary this coming June even though it feels like we just got married.
My oldest will turn eight, my middle boy will be five. How is this possible?
I am grateful for this time that I have had and I am looking forward to sharing more experiences with my boys.
Since this year is almost over, I plan on making it a fall to remember.
We might have to make modifications for our Halloween adventures this year since we will have a two-week old, but we will be doing something fun as a family.
You better believe that as soon as it hits midnight on November 1, my husband will be bringing the Christmas tree up from the basement so I can decorate our house for the most magical year yet.
I think that baby cuddles under the glow of Christmas lights will feel so nice.
Family movie nights on Sunday evenings will be so much better when I have my three boys in my bed to cuddle and watch a movie. (Okay, Rocky will be sleeping rather than watching the movie and Rush will be playing with stuffies.)
A baby always brings something more to the holidays and I can’t wait to share that with my older boys. They are excited for “bubby” to be here as am I.
By my next column, there will be another little boy that will be causing me to feel much older. Pray for me. The Lord has blessed me with three boys, but I know raising them in today’s world isn’t easy!
