Dennis Jerry Heard

A memorial service for family only is being planned at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Dennis Jerry “Red” Heard, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, May 21 (2020) at Highland Court Rehabilitation Center in Marshall. He was 74 years old. 

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Johnny Walters will officiate.  

The son of Cecil and Madge (Young) Heard was born on Jan. 7, 1946, in Beckham.

Jerry played basketball in his youth. He loved fishing and horses and loved going to church. He attended Crossroads Community Church.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Johnny Heard; and one sister, Carolyn Carpenter.  

Survivors include his children, Misty (Scott) Dodson, Robin (Tim Bachman) Cartwright, all of Harrison, Brent (Nona) Heard, of Diamond City, and Brandy Blair, of Witt Springs; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren with another on the way.
