Forty-two Harrison Middle School students toured Northark Technical Center (NTC) on Tuesday, March 11. The 8th graders, members of HMS teacher Maribeth O'Dell's Career Development classes, toured three divisions of the Tech Center including construction, welding, and HVAC. After learning about the Technical Center opportunities, students had lunch (provided by NTC) and then traveled to Northark's south campus to tour the new Robotics Training Center currently under construction.

Members of Harrison High School’s Thespian Troupe 2715 attended the Arkansas Thespian Festival in Russellville recently. The Arkansas Thespian Festival is a gathering of school theater students from across the state who have been inducted into the Thespian honor society. During the 3-day event, students attend theater workshops as well as present their own works through one-act and full-length productions.

JASPER — A law banning cell phones in public schools during the school day, called the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act, was recently passed by the state House and Senate and is expected to be signed by the governor in time for it to go into effect for the 2025-2026 school year. The Jasper School District Board of Education, meeting in regular session Monday night, Feb. 17, took action by appropriating $15,405.75 to purchase phone pouches, hampers and lockboxes.
