Readers will also learn about the history of baseball greats Bill Virdon and Preacher Roe.

Travel down to Mammoth Spring, Ark., and enjoy a day by the water or take a hike at nearby Grand Gulf.

For those who enjoy summer festivals, included in this edition is a feature story about the 23rd annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon Festival to be held Sept. 7 through 9 in Harrison, Ark. Also included is information about the Buffalo River Elk Festival in Jasper, Ark., and the “hot spots” for the best Fourth of July fireworks and festivities.

Branson highlights include the new record-breaking Time Traveler coaster and a look at Sampson at the Sight and Sound Theater.

The quarterly magazine will be inserted in today’s edition of the Quill for subscribers.

Additional free distribution will include southern Missouri and north Arkansas chambers of commerce, tourist information centers, convenience stores and professional offices. The magazine is expected to reach 30,000 readers.
