Arkansas Special Olympics Area 2 held a basketball skills event on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Bergman school. Special olympics athletes demonstrated skills in 50 Meter Dribbling, Spot Shot, and Target Pass. Special Olympics Arkansas serves athletes from all 75 counties in the state. The counties are divided into 17 "areas" which have their own volunteer area director who is responsible for the training and competitions for the athletes who live in their area. Area 2 includes five counties — Boone, Marion, Searcy, Baxter, and Newton. For more information about Arkansas Special Olympics, visit www.specialolympicsarkansas.org.
