The Boone County Transparency in Government Group will sponsor a free Arkansas Freedom Of Information Act Workshop on Thursday evening, June 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Boone County Senior Activity Center, located at 1516 Rock Springs Road inHarrison. Free soft drinks and finger foods will be available, and each Workshop participant will receive a copy of THE ARKANSAS FREEDOM OF INFORMATION HANDBOOK sponsored and made available by the Office of the Governor, Office of the State Attorney General and the Arkansas Press Association. Dr. Bill Ray Lewis, founder of the sponsoring organization and co-founder of the Arkansas Transparency in Government Group, will serve as the presenter during the Workshop. Dr. Lewis has been recognized as an authority concerning the State’s FOIA and has dedicated much of his private and professional careers studying and implementing the mandates and provisions of the State’s Freedom of Information Act of 1967, as amended.
