Service: Graveside at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hall Cemetery.

Duard Dale Hendrix, age 81, passed away Nov. 15 (2012) in Palm Coast, Fla.

He was born March 31, 1931, at Richland Creek, Eula, to Hosea Sherman Hendrix and Ada Talbott Hendrix.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Mark.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wendy Coulson; one son, Alan; two daughters, Lisa and Chloe; five grandchildren, all of Ipswich, England; three sisters, Arlene, of Oklahoma, and Twila and Trudie, of Indiana; and one half-sister, Judy, of Oklahoma.

He attended school at the Hall School on Richland until his family moved to Marshall in 1942, where he attended school until the family moved to Oklahoma.

He spent 20 years in the Air Force and many years overseas in many countries. Richland was always in his heart and close on his mind. In later years, he wrote a book, “Ozark Boy,” that told of his childhood on Richland Creek and his adult life in other places. He spoke of his Uncle Henry and Aunt Ledie Barnett.

His remains will be laid to rest beside them in the Hall Cemetery on Richland Creek, Eula.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Hall Cemetery. Mr. Joe Joslin, Searcy County Veterans Affairs, will officiate.
