Five generations of faith

Posted

Five-month-old Elsie Evelyn Parks, daughter of Dakota and Josie Parks of Washington State, came to Arkansas last month to meet her namesake - 100 year old Evelyn Campbell, her great-great grandmother.

Olvey Bible Church and pastor Kevin Vaclavicek opened their doors and sanctuary for Dakota and Josie to publicly dedicate Elsie to the Lord. The family was humbled that the church not only allowed them to dedicate Elsie in the church, but also pledged to continue to pray for them as they raise Elsie to know, love and serve the Lord. They desire to follow the legacy of faith that is present in their family and begins with 100 year old Evelyn Campbell.

Baby Elsie enjoyed visiting her Great Grandma, as she is called, at her home in Harrison. She also visited the graveside of her other namesake, Great-Great Granny Elsie Newman, also a woman of faith with lasting impact on the family. Elsie Evelyn Parks is the great-granddaughter of Ron and Nita Cope of Harrison who both attend Olvey Bible Church.
