Forbes to speak at National Day of Prayer event

The Boone County observance of the National Day of Prayer will be Thursday, May 6, at 6 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. The keynote speaker will be former Congressman Randy Forbes from Virginia.

Congressman Forbes is the founder of the Congressional Prayer Caucus. In addition to leading the prayer effort in our nation's capitol securing Room 219 as a permanent place for prayer, he is responsible for encouraging prayer in state capitols establishing State Congressional Prayer Caucuses. 

Forbes is also responsible for the Pray USA initiative nationwide and the In God We Trust poster program which has placed the nation’s motto in schools all across the country.
