Miss Iris Franco, age 16, from Flippin High School, was awarded the 1st place in the 2023 Arkansas Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Her artwork continued in the national competition by representing Arkansas in the National Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest held during the 124th VFW National Convention was held at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona
