Service: Memorial service at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Coffman Funeral Home.

Jimmy Dale Tate Jr., graduated into glory on Wednesday, July 23 (2014) at the age of 56.

He was born Aug. 13, 1957, in Berwyn, Illinois. Jim is the son of Essie Tate, of Harrison. He was living in Branson, Missouri, and serving as operations manager at Summerwinds Resort Services at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his mother, Essie; his sister, Donna Hatasaki and her husband, Grant, of Mountain View, California; his nephew, Joe Hatasaki, of Denver, Colorado; his niece, Allison Hatasaki, also of Mountain View, California; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and dearest cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Tate Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Vickie Ervin; and his paternal grandparents, Chester and Gladys Tate.

Jim graduated from Harrison High School in 1975 and from the University of Arkansas in 1980 with a degree in accounting. He completed his law degree at the U of A after working for the Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa for a short time. Jim practiced law in Fayetteville and Harrison before moving to the resort industry in the early 1990s. Jim loved floating the Buffalo River, fishing, camping and was an expert water skier as a young man. He had an eclectic taste in music and art, loved working in the yard, had a sharp wit, a tender heart, a fabulous gift of hospitality, and loved engaging with people. He will be deeply missed by his family, his co-workers and by countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
