Greetings from Capps. I'm having to get caught up myself as I was in New Mexico for 5 days visiting my mother, brother and son. She's being treated for liver cancer so any prayers for her recovery are appreciated. I guess I missed out on some good weather while I was gone, but the snow-capped Sandia mountains were quite beautiful. Our good friend Jesse Moore is in the hospital in Fayetteville with some serious issues, we're believing for good outcomes for him. The yearly numbers are in for the Capps-Batavia Fire Department. We responded to 79 total calls, including structures, brush fires, gas and smoke alarms and vehicle fires/ traffic control. We continue to have excellent response times and adequate or better equipment and personnel on each call. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our ranks. If you're interested, come by one of our monthly training meetings the 4th Monday of the month at the Capps Firehouse on Old Capps Road just off Hwy 392 West at 7 p.m. Blessings, Doug
