The Newton County Quorum Court passed two unrelated resolutions at its regular monthly meeting March 4. One resolution approved the Madison/Newton County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, and the other authorizes the county judge to submit an application of formal request to the Arkansas Rural Development Commission for the purpose of securing a state grant to assist the Lurton-Pelsor volunteer fire Department.
