Northark celebrates FBLA-PBL Week

Posted
Mayor Jerry Jackson proclaimed the second week in February as National FBLA-PBL week. Members of Northark’s Phi Beta Lambda are preparing to compete in the State Leadership Conference via a virtual format this year. The organization’s national conference will also take place online this year. Northark’s PBL members will compete against other chapters to demonstrate career competencies, business knowledge and job skills, as well as expanding their leadership skills. PBL Conferences are a great way to network and receive recognition for achievements. Northark students who are interested in joining should contact Janet McMurrin, business and I.T. instructor at jmcmurrin@northark.edu or by calling 870-391-3126. Registration will be open until Friday, March 5. There are many business categories to choose from. Phi Beta Lambda members strive to serve their community. The Community Service Project for the 2020-21 session involved teaming up with Three Wishes for Ruby’s Residents to send Christmas and Valentine’s Day cards to nursing home residents in the area.
