Robert Lee "Bob" Summitt, age 94, of Harrison, passed away Monday, Feb. 18 (2019) at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

The son of Charles D. and Versia Lea Summitt was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Kingman, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Gladys Summitt, his brother, Glenn Summitt; sisters, Irene Simpson, Betty Barnett and Evelyn Hiebert; an infant brother; and two sons-in-law, Tom Duck and Billy John O’Dell.

Bob enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at the truck stop and restoring old trucks. He was known as a celebrity at the Golden Coral in Branson where he liked to eat. His favorite TV shows were old Westerns such as “Gunsmoke,” “Bonanza” and “The Lone Ranger.” He never missed a free meal and treasured visiting with his family.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Ramsey Destroyer. He also served in World War II.

He is survived by his children, Sharon O’Dell, Susan Duck, Bill Summitt and wife Sandra, and Tammy Jones and husband Randey all of Harrison; his grandchildren, Angie Pratt and husband Jeff, Greg O’Dell and wife Wendy, Rochelle Chapman and husband Jeff, Matt Weaver, Kellie Manes and husband Matt, Ginger Campbell and husband Robert, Libby Journagan and husband Chris, Heather Mathis and husband Lonnie, and Ryan Summitt; his great-grandchildren, Austin Pratt and wife Kayla, Jordan Pratt and wife Kasi, Jessica Pratt, Ben O’Dell, Tori O’Dell, Drew O’Dell, Sydney Phifer, Lily Phifer, Colin Phifer, Elias Weaver, Jackson Murray and wife Alex, Parker Murray, Reece Journagan, Carson Journagan, Sophia Mathis and Fletcher Mathis; and great-great-grandchildren, London and Lofton Pratt, Beckett Murray and Brady Pratt.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Cremation will follow.

Honorary pallbearers are Denis Lott, Hank, Ralph Thompson, Bob Cash, Melvin Pollock and Rodney Stromlund.
